About the Event

Ashbourne Farms | Ages 6–12 | Half-Day Experience

June 8th- June 12th

Give your child a summer rooted in curiosity, confidence, and connection to the land.

Ashbourne Farms’ Regenerative Farming Summer Camp invites children to step into the role of a modern farmer—learning where food comes from, how nature works together, and what it means to care for the land that sustains us.

Each morning is spent outdoors on our working farm and in the surrounding natural landscape, guided by the farmers who steward Ashbourne every day. Campers move between the production side of the farm—soil, gardens, animals, and mushrooms—and the meadows, woods, and waterways that support it, building a clear understanding of how these two worlds rely on one another. Through hands-on activities, close observation, and simple, meaningful work, children experience how farming and nature function as one connected system.

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL EXPERIENCE
Each day focuses on one essential system of the farm and its relationship to the natural world, helping children understand how everything works together:

LIVING SOIL
Explore compost, soil life, and the unseen systems that support healthy food and land, paired with meadow exploration to see how soil supports native grasses and biodiversity.

THE KITCHEN GARDEN
Plant seeds, harvest seasonal crops, and learn how plants, insects, and pollinators work in balance both in the garden and in the surrounding habitat.

ANIMAL CARE
Feed, water, and collect eggs while observing how animals support soil health and how wildlife and birds interact with grazing systems and shelter areas.

FOREST & FUNGI
Discover trees, mushrooms, and the hidden networks beneath the surface, connecting cultivated growing spaces to the forest ecosystems that sustain them.

HARVEST CELEBRATION
Gather from the land, reflect in nature, and see how soil, plants, animals, wildlife, and people are all part of one living system.

Please arrive at the Ashbourne Farms farm entrance at 3801 Old Westport Rd and follow signs.
